PS Plus July 2026 Games Are Packed With Zombies, Aliens and Nostalgia

Sony is bringing the blockbuster Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to PS Plus in July 2026, alongside the zombie survival classic Dying Light and the cult-favorite Psi-Ops. It's one of the strongest monthly lineups in recent memory.

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the July 2026 PlayStation Plus game catalog on Wednesday. The three titles — Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Dying Light, and Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy — will be available to subscribers of PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers starting in July.

PlayStation Plus has been undergoing a transformation since the 2022 relaunch that merged PS Plus and PS Now into three tiers. Essential subscribers get a handful of monthly games, while Extra and Premium members gain access to a rotating catalog of hundreds of PS4 and PS5 titles. The July 2026 lineup is the latest effort to keep the catalog competitive against Xbox Game Pass.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft, launched in December 2023 as a first-person open-world action game set in James Cameron's universe. Critics praised its visuals and world-building, though some cited repetitive mission design. The game originally retailed for $70, so its inclusion on PS Plus represents significant value.

Dying Light, the 2015 open-world zombie survival game from Techland, is beloved for its parkour mechanics and day-night cycle. It has sold over 20 million copies and remains a staple of the survival horror genre. Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, a 2004 third-person action game from Midway, brings nostalgia with its telekinetic combat and psychic powers — a rare addition for retro fans.

Industry analysts see this move as a strategic push to retain subscribers amid rising costs. “Sony is leaning into blockbuster IP and nostalgic classics to justify the higher price of Extra and Premium,” said Michael Pachter, managing director at Wedbush Securities. “Avatar alone could justify a month of service.” The lineup also signals Sony's willingness to add newer AAA titles — Avatar is barely two and a half years old.

Subscribers should expect the games to go live on the first Tuesday of July 2026, likely July 7. Sony typically announces the following month's lineup in the last week. Upcoming months may include other Ubisoft titles or deeper cuts from the PlayStation back catalog. For now, July 2026 is shaping up to be a standout month for PS Plus.
