Accessibility

1. Our Commitment

ClareNow is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards to make our platform usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology.

2. Standards We Follow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, motor, auditory, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

3. Accessibility Features

3.1 Visual

  • Dark and light modes — A theme toggle is available in the top navigation bar.
  • Responsive design — The layout adapts to all screen sizes and browser zoom levels up to 400%.
  • Colour contrast — Text and interactive elements are designed to meet WCAG AA contrast ratio requirements.
  • Resizable text — Font sizes are defined in relative units (rem/em) and respect browser font size settings.
  • Image alt text — Article images include descriptive alternative text.

3.2 Keyboard Navigation

  • All interactive elements — links, buttons, form fields, and modals — are fully keyboard operable.
  • Focus indicators are visible on all focusable elements.
  • Modal dialogs trap focus appropriately and can be dismissed with the Escape key.

3.3 Screen Readers

  • Semantic HTML5 elements (<article>, <nav>, <main>, <section>) communicate page structure clearly.
  • ARIA roles and labels are applied where native HTML semantics are insufficient.
  • Decorative images use empty alt attributes (alt="") so screen readers skip them.
  • Form inputs have associated labels.
  • Live regions announce dynamic content updates such as notifications and status changes.

3.4 Content

  • Article summaries are written in plain language for readability.
  • FAQ sections use keyboard-accessible accordion triggers.
  • Structured data (JSON-LD) improves compatibility with assistive technologies and AI search tools.

4. Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA:

  • Some third-party embedded content may have accessibility limitations outside our control.
  • Some older articles may have images without alt text until they are reprocessed.

We are actively working to resolve these limitations.

5. Assistive Technology Support

ClareNow is designed to be compatible with:

  • NVDA and JAWS (Windows screen readers)
  • VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
  • TalkBack (Android)
  • Dragon NaturallySpeaking (voice input)
  • ZoomText and similar screen magnification tools

We test across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

6. Feedback & Assistance

If you experience any accessibility barriers on ClareNow, please contact us at info@clarenow.com and include:

  • A description of the barrier you encountered.
  • The URL of the page where the issue occurred.
  • The assistive technology and browser you are using.

We aim to respond within 5 business days and resolve reported issues within 30 days where technically feasible.

7. Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the relevant disability rights authority or web accessibility regulator in your jurisdiction.

8. Ongoing Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We conduct regular audits, incorporate accessibility testing into our development process, and are committed to improving conformance over time.
