The Nintendo Music app has added support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and web browsers, allowing subscribers to stream iconic game soundtracks in their cars and on computers. The update, announced this week, expands the reach of the service that launched earlier this year exclusively on mobile devices. Nintendo Music is bundled with a Nintendo Switch Online membership, which costs $3.99 per month or $19.99 per year. The app features soundtracks from franchises like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, and Splatoon. CarPlay and Android Auto integration means drivers can access the app through their car's infotainment system, though Nintendo warns in a cheeky tagline to 'drive responsibly' when Mario Kart World music is playing. Web support enables streaming from any desktop browser, removing the need for the mobile app. This update follows a trend of gaming companies expanding their music offerings: Sony, for example, launched PlayStation Music integrated with Spotify. For Nintendo, it's a way to deepen engagement with its loyal fanbase and make its vast musical library more accessible.
