Designed specifically to keep refrigerators and freezers running during outages, the unit is less than 1.5 inches thick and can fit between a fridge and a wall or inside a pantry. The product was introduced after a year of rising grid instability and extreme weather events across the United States, which have made home backup power a mainstream necessity.

The portable power station market has exploded in recent years, dominated by brands like Jackery, Goal Zero, and EcoFlow. Most units are boxy and heavy, often requiring dedicated floor space. Jackery's new FridgeGuard breaks that mold with a slim, almost book-shaped profile that tucks into tight corners. According to CNET's initial hands-on report, the FridgeGuard uses high-density lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, which offer longer cycle life and better thermal stability than older lithium-ion chemistries. The unit weighs roughly 25 pounds, making it portable but not ultralight. Pricing has not been officially announced, but based on Jackery's existing lineup, analysts expect a retail price between $800 and $1,000. The FridgeGuard also supports solar charging via Jackery's SolarSaga panels, with a full recharge in about 4–6 hours under peak sun.

Industry observers note that the ultra-thin form factor addresses a specific pain point: space-constrained homes, apartments, and RVs.
